Dr. Richard E. Baker, Jr. is a Board-certified Podiatric Surgeon with over 2 decades of experience in managing injuries and diseases of the foot and ankle.
Dr. Baker earned his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine at Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine and completed Residencies in Podiatric Orthopedics and Podiatric Surgery at the West Roxbury VA Medical Center. He studied at the Russian Ilizarov Scientific Center to learn the specialized use of the Ilizarov External Fixation device for leg and foot reconstruction and fracture healing.
Dr. Baker is Board-certified in Podiatric Orthopedics, Foot Surgery, Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery, Primary Podiatric Medicine and in Wound Care. He is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Orthopedics and Medicine, a Fellow of the American Professional Wound Care Association, and is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association.
Dr. Baker has taught and practiced Podiatry in academic centers in Iowa, Massachusetts and Rhode Island, directing medical education at the West Roxbury VA and is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at Brown University. He has lectured and contributed to the podiatric medical literature.
Dr. Baker sees patients in his Prima CARE office in Fall River and has surgical privileges at Saint Anne’s Hospital.
