This was my first meeting with Dr Bassally. She was kind, showed genuine concern, and addressed the medical complaint I was seeking treatment for. She was aggressive in her approach in ordering testing to either confirm or deny suspected diagnosis. She answered my questions when asked. The only concerns I have are ones in the aftercare documentation. As someone who is very proactive in my treatment and planning I am heavily dependent on the patient portal to monitor my care plan and treatment as we as patients do not always have direct communication and access to our medical team so we rely on our medical information being available to us and factual so we can continue best practice with the end goal being optimal health. I have been observing notations in my portal visit summaries not just with this practice but with others; listed under reason for visit this statement "Not available by practice discretion. Please contact the practice". This does not allow me to track my health progress if I don't know why I was seen nor monitor the continuity of care. In addition, I'm also finding on the visit summary medical conditions/diagnosis addressed in the visit (specific to this visit) that simply were not discussed (ie. Mental health diagnosis). Without getting into personal healthcare information this my mental health diagnosis or wellness was not covered during this visit. I was not asked nor did I give my baseline for wellness. This makes it particularly confusing to a patient when they are reviewing their portal visits notes and they observe facts regarding a visit that did not happen. Thank you for taking the time to review my experience. All in all I had a very pleasant experience with this provider and am great full I had the opportunity to meet with her.
