About Me
<p>Dr. Johnson has been performing vein procedures for over 20 years, and he has helped over 5,000 patients take control of their veins. He grew up in Florida and South Carolina, and attended medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina. He completed his general surgery residency and was named Chief Resident in Surgery at the University of Florida.</p>
<p>He then completed a fellowship at Duke University specializing in minimally invasive surgery techniques. He moved to Atlanta and joined the Vein Center at Johns Creek in 2006. He serves as director of the Vein Center at Johns Creek, a post he has held since 2008. Dr. Johnson is certified through the National Board of Medical Examiners, and is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).</p>
<p>Dr. Johnson has taught courses on the latest techniques in the minimally invasive care of venous diseases. This has included teaching surgeons on a variety of standard procedural techniques, as well as updating surgeons on cutting-edge technologies. His interests include the treatment of venous reflux disease, minimally invasive surgery, and weight loss surgery. Dr. Johnson has served numerous hospital roles, including Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Emory Johns Creek Hospital. He has also served as Vice Chairman of the Department of Surgery and Chief of General Surgery at Emory Johns Creek. He serves as Medical Director at the Atlanta General and Bariatric Surgery Center (AGBSC).</p>
