Michael P. Schneider, M.D. is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. He went on to obtain his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Tennessee in 1984. He did his transitional internship at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh. He then completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Tennessee.
Dr. Schneider joined North Park Ophthalmology in 1990. Here he practices comprehensive ophthalmology with special interest in cataract surgery, glaucoma and treatment of diabetic retinopathy. He is former Chairman of the Head and Neck Department at Passavant Hospital.
He is board certified in Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Taylor moved to Pittsburgh in 1989 to begin her ophthalmology training and start her family. In 1993 she joined North Park Ophthalmology and has been with the practice ever since. She is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, is Board Certified in Ophthalmology and participates in the Board’s Maintenance of Certification program. While she is a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist, her practice concentrates on medical and surgical diseases of the eye including Cataract, Glaucoma, Dry Eye and Infections as well as eye problems caused by chronic medical conditions such as Diabetes, Parkinson’s Disease, Thyroid disorders, Arthritis and Autoimmune Disease. Dr. Taylor has extensive experience in managing the aging patient.
Dr. Taylor has lived in McCandless Township over 20 years where she raised two children with her husband who is also a physician. She is proud that her children are born and raised Pittsburghers. Both of her children are currently studying at Universities.
Dr. Taylor has been an active staff member of UPMC Passavant throughout her career. She has been Department Chairman, Division Chief, and Medical Director of Surgical Services in the past and is currently the Physician Advisor to Quality for Surgery. She also has served on the board of the Pittsburgh Ophthalmology Society for over 5 years and is the Program Director for the Allied Health Division of their Spring Meeting. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Pennsylvania Academy of Ophthalmology, Pittsburgh Ophthalmology Society, American Medical Association, Pennsylvania Medical Society, and the Allegheny County Medical Society.
In her spare time, Dr. Taylor enjoys listening to and performing music, a wide variety of fitness activities including swimming, running, hiking, and skiing; travel, and spending time with her family.
Dr. Rumpf has been a physician of North Park Ophthalmology since 2009. He is a native to the North Hills of Pittsburgh. He completed medical school at the University of Maryland. Postgraduate training included a one year internship in Internal Medicine at York Hospital in York, PA, followed by completing his residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Pittsburgh. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Rumpf lives with his wife, daughter and son in Valencia.
Michael is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Pennsylvania. He completed his undergraduate work at California University of Pennsylvania to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and earned a Master of Family Therapy degree from Drexel University. He has experience with children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples in outpatient and community-based settings. Michael utilizes a culturally focused, collaborative, systems-based approach to create an integrative experience in therapeutic work. He enjoys exploring personal strengths and relationships to build bonds, support growth, and make adjustments through life’s challenges. Michael is also certified in Exposure and Response Prevention (EXRP), which focuses directly on managing obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
Dr. Holly Parlavecchio is a graduate of Allegheny College and the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She enjoys all aspects of eye care particularly getting to know the families she's examined since she started with North Park Ophthalmology in 2008. She lives in Pittsburgh with her husband, daughter, and French bulldog. In her free time she enjoys travel and outdoor activities.
