Dr. Juan Carlos Mendieta is a Fellowship-trained cardiologist.

Dr. Mendieta earned his Doctorate in Medicine (MD) in Santiago, Dominican Republic. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Saint Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston and his Cardiology Fellowship at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Dr. Mendieta specializes in cardiovascular disease – identification, cardiac testing, prevention, and management—both in hospitalized patients and in the ambulatory office setting. His expertise includes non-invasive cardiac testing, including echocardiography, nuclear stress testing, arrhythmias, valvular disease, and ischemic cardiac disease.

Dr. Mendieta is Board-certified in Internal Medicine and worked as a Specialist in Hospital Medicine prior to his Cardiology training. He has presented medical research at numerous national cardiology meetings and has been recognized for excellence in teaching.

Dr. Mendieta sees patients in the Prima CARE Cardiology office at 289 Pleasant Street and in consultation at Saint Anne’s and Charlton Memorial Hospitals.
