About Me
Walter E. McGregor, MD is the Director of Robotic and Minimally Invasive Heart Surgery, Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Allegheny General Hospital. He received his medical degree from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine and completed his research fellowship and cardiothoracic surgery residency at Allegheny General Hospital. He completed a residency in general surgery at Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine.
Dr. McGregor is a member of the International Society for Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery, Society of Thoracic Surgeons and Mensa. He is board-certified by the American Board Thoracic Surgery and American Board of Surgery.
Dr. McGregor currently serves as Program Director of the Thoracic Surgery Residency Program at Allegheny General and West Penn Hospitals. He is a member of the Simulation and Transfusion Committees at Allegheny General Hospital. Dr. McGregor is Adjunct Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University.
