About Me

Dr. Prairie was an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Pittsburgh for five years prior to joining Midlife Women’s Associates in 2013. She is board-certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Preventative Medicine giving her a unique clinical practice with a focus on women’s health and wellness.

She earned her BA in anthropology from Columbia University. A graduate of the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, Dr. Prairie received a master’s degree in public health from Dartmouth Medical School and completed her residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.

Dr. Prairie’s areas of research expertise are menopausal symptoms including mood problems, sleep disturbances, sexual function and preventative medicine. Her research and expertise related to midlife women’s issues have been published in numerous peer-viewed medical journals and have been awarded funding from the National Institutes of Health.

Dr. Prairie works with her patients to meet their health and wellness goals using the most current medical evidence. Her special expertise in preventative medicine allows her to focus on health and wellness during the transition through menopause and and thereafter.
