About Me
Marvin R. Balaan, MD, is the Medical Director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Allegheny General Hospital. He received his medical degree from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine and completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo in Buffalo, N.Y. He completed a fellowship in respiratory care and critical care medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Dr. Balaan is a member of the American Thoracic Society, American College of Physicians and National Association for Medical Direction of Respiratory Care. He is board-certified through the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Balaan is currently a member of the attending medical staff at Allegheny General Hospital. He specializes in pulmonary disease with an expertise that includes asthma, lung conditions, lung cancer, sleep disorders, chronic obstructive and emphysema.
