About Me
Allegheny Health Network is pleased to welcome Michelle Louise Paulson, MD, a board-certified internal medicine physician with fellowship training in infectious disease. She has clinical interest and expertise in managing adult patients with genetic immunodeficiency conditions, mycobacterial infections and Lyme disease. She joins the Division of Infectious Disease at Allegheny General Hospital.
Dr. Paulson received her medical degree at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV, and completed an infectious disease rotation at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand. She completed her internal medicine internship and residency at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, N.C. Dr. Paulson completed her fellowship training at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Md. She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and its Infectious Disease subspecialty, and is a winner of the 2008 National Institutes of Health Director’s Award. She is an author of numerous articles published in medical journals for her research work, including work on mycobacterial infections and genetic defects leading to infection.
Dr. Paulson has medical staff privileges at Allegheny General Hospital, West Penn Hospital and Allegheny Valley Hospital and leads the general infectious disease clinic at Allegheny General Hospital.
