About Me
Daniel A. Shade, Jr., MD, is Director of the Sleep Disorders Center and Assistant Co-Director of the Pulmonary/Critical Care Fellowship at Allegheny General Hospital. He received his medical degree from the Temple University School of Medicine and subsequently completed his residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care/sleep at the Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pa.
Dr. Shade, has received numerous academic achievements and awards. He was also included in Pittsburgh Magazine’s “Best Doctors” issue in both Critical Care Medicine and Sleep Medicine. He is a member of numerous professional committees at Allegheny General Hospital including the Disaster Committee and Bariatric/OSA Committee. Dr. Shade is Chairman of the Critical Care Committee and ICU Director’s Committee at Allegheny General Hospital as well.
Dr. Shade is board-certified through the American Board of Internal Medicine (Critical Care Medicine and Pulmonary Disease). He holds professional affiliations with the American College of Physicians, American Thoracic Society, Society of Critical Care Medicine and Society of Anesthesia and Sleep Medicine. He is Associate Professor of Medicine (Adjunct) at the Temple University School of Medicine.
