About Me
James P. Valeriano, MD, is the Director of the Comprehensive Epilepsy Program and an attending physician in the Department of Neurology at Allegheny General Hospital. He received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Valeriano completed a post-graduate internship at the Thomas Jefferson University Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pa. He completed his general surgery residency and a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology at Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Valeriano is a member of numerous professional committees at Allegheny General Hospital including the Student Affairs, NICU, Quality Management and Executive committees. He is Chairman of the Department of Neurology at Allegheny General Hospital as well.
Dr. Valeriano is board-certified through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology. Dr. Valeriano holds professional affiliations with the American Academy of Neurology, Allegheny County Medical Society, Epilepsy Foundation of Western Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania Medical Society, American Epilepsy Society, American Electroencephalographic Society and the National Association of Epilepsy Centers. He is Associate Professor of Medicine, Clerkship Director and a student advisor at the Drexel University College of Medicine.
