A dedicated surgeon and prolific researcher, Dr. Hoppo specializes in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), swallowing difficulties, achalasia, Barrett's esophagus, and esophageal cancer. Working with one of the nation's preeminent esophageal disease specialists, Blair Jobe, MD. Dr. Hoppo is helping to pioneer the field of minimally invasive surgery and endoscopic therapy for the treatment of esophageal diseases. Dr. Hoppo earned his medical degree at Kyoto Prefectural University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at Takatsuki General Hospital and completed a fellowship at UPMC.
