Farrel J. Buchinsky, MD, is the Director in the Division of Pediatric Otolaryngology at Allegheny General Hospital. He received his medical degree from the University of Cape Town (UCT) in Cape Town, South Africa. Dr. Buchinsky completed a research fellowship in endocrinology and metabolism at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pa., and a fellowship in pediatric otolaryngology at Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center in Seattle, Wash. He completed his residency in otolaryngology at Temple University’s Health Sciences Center.
Dr. Buchinsky has received numerous academic achievements and awards including the American Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery Foundation Honor Award. He is a member of numerous professional committees at Allegheny General Hospital including the Medical Information Technology Committee and Information Resource Committee. Dr. Buchinsky is Vice-Chairman and a statistical consultant of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) at Allegheny General Hospital as well.
He is board-certified through the American Board of Otolaryngology. Dr. Buchinsky holds professional affiliations with the American Academy of Otolaryngology (Head and Neck Surgery) American Medical Association and the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology. He is Associate Professor of Otolaryngology at the Temple University School of Medicine and the Drexel University College of Medicine.
